What’s New with ITIL®:
In the ITIL® v3 qualification scheme, the next level from the Foundation Certificate includes the intermediate certifications (with two streams: Lifecycle and Capability). Candidates who achieve 22 credits from passing ITIL® exams will be awarded the ITIL® Expert Certification. Candidates who satisfy the requirements for the level above ITIL® Expert will be awarded the ITIL® Master Certificate (which is still in development).

  • More focus on Service Lifecycle phases and the integration of processes
  • Foundation certification is still a prerequisite to the next level of Certifications

Intermediate Capability
  • Four Certifications covering an expanded set of core processes
  • Similar to v2 clustered Practitioner Certifications

ITIL® Credit Profiler
The APMG has released a new tool, called the ITIL® Credit Profiler.

This online tool allows you to map your current v2 and v3 qualifications against the v3 scheme. The Credit Profiler helps you determine how many credits you currently hold within the scheme, and to assess and decide on the best route for v3 certification. This tool also provides recommendations, and you are free to choose a selection of modules based on your own educational and certification requirements.
